Warning over ‘Liquid Ecstasy’

During the course of the investigations into the death of two men in Peterhead on Saturday 27 September 2008, Grampian Police have recovered a quantity of a substance known as GBL.
GBL (Gamma-butyrolactone) is rapidly converted into GHB (Gamma-hydroxybutyrate), which is known as liquid ecstasy, when ingested into the human body.

Plaque stolen, Grange Cemetery, Peterhead

Grampian Police in Peterhead are investigating the theft of a memorial plaque from a cemetery.
The theft occurred between Friday 19 September and Monday 29 September 2008, from the Grange Cemetery.  The plaque is described as black granite, approximately 18″ x 12″, with gold writing.
